YAT (Yet another T-Rex)

Also I drew this with the addition of using Fazek’s tools in Anime Studio

Pico Day pictures

I want to do something for Pico Day. This is a picture of Nene falling from the sky.

Spot the Lance

Another rendering test. Used a smarter fill tool with ASP developed by Synthsin75. Also learned a thing or two about proper filling techniques. The lines were added separately and the smooth edge of the shadow was in fact a blurred line

48 HOURS Blog - When interweb goes offline

This little Blog was written while my internet was on the fritz.

I had this crackpot idea that I could communicate with my peers over the internet. The idea being that I have broadband internet with a reasonably high speed and that I could use that service to exchange messages, files, footage etc with people overseas…

Provided the fucking thing works.

What happens if the internet for some STUPID reason stops working?

What then - dialup? Good thing Anime Studio files are tiny or I’d be fucked.

If you want to know about redundancy, check this guy out. He’s been working on the flying car for decades. His problem has always been ‘what if the flying car like, stops flying?’. He has realistic solutions for a seemingly unrealistic problem.

Old Skool (Vieja Escuela)

First day back at school kids… time to settle a grudge or three.

This spanish language short is a talented bit of work done in Anime Studio. Influenced by different Anime, it shows off what you can do with the software. It’s also worth noting the backgrounds are made in Anime Studio too.

Of course, the punch-up is over a girl; one of the guy’s sisters, actually.

Who mourns for Winsor 45?

Hi, my name is Winsor 45, the default character that pops up on your screen when you start Anime Studio. This is probably your first contact with using the software. Sometimes it turns out good…

Sometimes it doesn’t…

So yeah, I’m pretty pissed; this wasn’t in my contract. So bite me.

Rendering styles and speed increase

I found a way to speed things up in the drawing department, with the image on the far left being my personal favorite and the quickest to draw. I switched on freehand mode and selected autoclose and autofill; this way I can select colours and outlines for each shape in advance.

Look what I found…

This guy (or guys) are a Chinese group that make really cool stuff in Anime Studio pro, and this clip shows him building a wolf of some sort in the software. His web site is worth checking out to see what he’s capable of. His other works are mirrored on his YouTube channel.

Inspired by his workflow I made this:

This was half an hour’s work though. What’s important here is that I made a concerted effort to draw complete shapes so that all I had to do was select the shape and tell Anime Studio to “create shape”. The bottleneck in this approach is that I haven’t figured out how to get it to create a shape without lines.

Rawr.

It’s Not based on The Watchmen - It’s not!!

Took ages to do and it looks a bit naff. Still, can’t say I didn’t try. Also it’s 3/4 view, so I think I lost a lot of control that way anyhow. I was trying to draw 50 Cent and my version looked more like a nickel.

I’ve been trying to find stuff online that would help get the speed up.
